Centuries ago, the trade caravans that transported goods along the Silk Road from China to Asia Minor found a place to rest at the Kervansaray by the road in Konakli. This oriental inn was commissioned by a Seljuk sultan in the first half of the 13th century. The town of Konakli has just under thirty thousand inhabitants. It stretches between the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Taurus Mountains to the north. On this side, the slopes of the mountains are covered with seductively scented pine trees, forming the natural northern boundary of the town. We returned to the Turkish Riviera after four years. Back then, we stayed in nearby Alanya. This time, we stayed in Konakli right by the Mediterranean Sea at the Noxinn Deluxe hotel, where we pleasantly spent a week full of relaxation, swimming, and small trips around.
