In 1977, Dad Pavel was 7 years old. He started going on trips, hiking tours, and mountain crossings regularly with his dad Svaťa. They regularly recorded their experiences in a chronicle they established in 1977. This year can therefore be considered a historic milestone for our family when we started engaging in tourism. The tourist chronicle covers the period from 1977 to 1991. We continued the tradition of the tourist chronicle in the next generation through these pages. You are reading the first part.
Motto: Life is beautiful, life is hard, merciless hours, long valleys, high snow peaks, we are all heroes, those of us who walk. S. K. Neumann.
In 1977, we recorded our historically first hiking trip to the highest peak of the Litenčice Hills, Hradisko, at an altitude of 518 meters. This was followed by another hiking trip to Urban near Slavkov. We concluded the tourist season with a week-long trek with a tent and other equipment along the Sázava River.
In 1978, we embarked on a hiking trip to the Ždánický Forest, where we conquered several local peaks - U slepice, Červený kříž, and Radlovec. Furthermore, we undertook two three-day treks through the Drahany Highlands. We also participated in the first organized hiking events in Bučovice.
In 1979, our tourist activity kicked into high gear. We undertook several hiking trips, participated in a series of organized hiking events both within and outside our region, initiated the '100 Spring Kilometers' campaign, and the whole season culminated in a week-long trek through the Bohemian Switzerland.
In 1980, we again participated in a whole series of hiking events, and on some of them, we even distributed stamps at the checkpoints. We also undertook two major expeditions - a winter holiday in the Beskydy Mountains and a summer one in Řevnice. In the tourist chronicle, we explained terminology.
In 1981, we participated in a whole series of hiking events, the launch of the '100 Spring Kilometers' campaign, a summer gathering of hikers, a military hiking race, and the TOM camp. The main events were week-long stays in Slovakia in the High Tatras, including many peaks and by the Domaša reservoir.
In 1982, we continued from the previous year, including the camp and the military hiking race. In winter, we camped at Zavadilka in the Chřiby Mountains, and in summer, we conquered a whole series of Tatra peaks. For the first time, we participated in the renowned hiking event through the Slovácko vineyards.
In 1983, in addition to the traditional hiking events - the launch of the '100 Spring Kilometers' campaign, hiking excursions including checkpoints, and the military hiking race - we undertook our first major mountain crossing. We named the whole event 'Across Slovakia,' and the first stage led along Small Carpathians.
In 1984, something new happened again - a seminar for hiking instructors in the Beskydy Mountains. We participated in hiking events and also in a week-long stay in Javorníky Mountains. Across Slovakia, this time we tackled the Slovak Paradise and its beautiful gorges. We ended the year in the Jeseníky Mountains.
In 1985, we started marking hiking trails. We launched this activity with a course for third-class trail markers. We participated in the Spartakiad at the Strahov Stadium and also in the launch of the '100 Spring Kilometers' campaign and many hiking events. Across Slovakia, we tackled the ridge route of the Low Tatras.
